Run-Off Barra Fishing – Limited Season, Peak Action
The run-off season is when Kakadu fishing truly comes alive. As floodwaters recede, Barramundi gather in the drains, creeks and floodplains, creating prime conditions for big strikes and high catch rates. This short window offers some of the best Barra fishing of the year, with trophy-size fish commonly landed.

Kakadu has some of the best ‘run off’ fishing available in the Top End and we are one of only a few guided fishing companies able to access this. We are also the only company based full time in Kakadu and who fish Kakadu exclusively. We can cater for groups of up to 4, fishing from 1 to 7 days. We can customize your experience to suit and even organise accommodation within Jabiru (Kakadu). Jabiru is a short 2.5hr drive from Darwin taking you away from the crowds fishing out from Darwin. You can also ask about fishing from a ‘live aboard’ Mother Ship experience for almost exclusive access to the East Alligator River during the ‘run off’.
